Truc Lam Zen Monastery Dalat

 

Truc Lam Zen Monastery Dalat Truc Lam Yen Tu, Truc Lam Zen Monastery Dalat, the largest Vietnamese Zen monastery located on Phuong Hoang mountain, is about 5km south of Da Lat city center.

The Truc Lam Zen Monastery was constructed from 1993 to 1994 and was completed. The project was designed by two architects, Vu Xuan Hung and Tran Duc Loc, with important consultancy from the famous architect Ngo Viet Thu who had a great flame of famous architectural works as the Independence Palace Saigon, Da Lat Market, Phu Cam church ... All original ideas and work of select the location wear planed by the monk Thich Thanh Tu decided.

Truc Lam Dalat is divided into two main areas: the external and the internal area. External areas include the main hall, Tinh Tam Lake, the bell tower, the drum stand,... The inner chamber consists of two separate areas, this is a practice zone of monks and nuns at the monastery.

Truc Lam Zen Monastery meditation hall was founded by Thich Thanh Tu and this is also the place where Thich Thanh Tu used to be the main residence. However, due to old age, he was weak, monk Thich Thanh Tu Leave Dalat back to Truc Lam Vung Tau monastery to rest, refresh. The current leader now is Thich Thong Phuong. He is one of the students Thich Thanh Tu.

 

The Da Lat Forest Clinic is a beautiful structure located next to Tuyen Lam Lake. From Tuyen Lam lake, visitors can go along a small path with 140 stone steps to cross the vast forest to the upper monastery. From the entrance to the visitors will go through a thousand gate, then go to the main hall of the monastery. The main hall is 192 square meters, inside the shrine itself is simple but important in Buddhism. On the altar, in the middle is a 2m high Buddha statue, the right hand holding the lotus up, the right Buddha likes Ca is the Bodhisattva statue on horseback lion. On the left side of the Buddha is the Phantom Bodhisattva riding on the back of a white elephant with six tusks. At the top of the shrine are the relief images of the eight figures of the Buddha and the numerous wooden statues carved very elaborately. The roof of the main hall is covered with glazed roof tiles, tile roof bent bar, creating the shield curves of the Vietnamese, the elegance of the meditation. Outside the courtyard, the left side of the courtyard is the drum and the right side of the bell tower is carved with fine figurines. Inside, there is a bell weighing 1.1 tons cast in Hue.

Tinh Tam Lake


Standing in front of the Truc Lam Zen, tourists can look down to Tuyen Lam lake with a beautiful pine forest. In front of the main hall, near the entrance to Tuyen Lam Lake is Tinh Tam Lake, this is a man-made aquarium with fish and turtles look very peaceful. Next to Tinh Tam Lake is a guest house for those who are new to spiritual practice in a short time will be arranged here for the monks to teach.

The most impressive of the Truc Lam Zen Monastery is the flower garden in front of the main hall, beautiful flower gardens are planted with many precious species such as bird of paradize, Impatient, Rose ... all kinds This flower is collected by the monks and nursed in the gardens inside the monastery.

In 2015, the Truc Lam Zen Monastery has completed two great significance works, named as the relics tower of Xa Li tower, and the statue of Shakyamuni made from jade and gold by Thai Land Buddhists dedicated.
